DAYS after the Lekki shooting disaster, business owners, government institutions and residents have recorded a haemorrhaging loss of lives, goods and property.

Monday morning welcomed officials of the Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho Local Government to the scenes of last Thursday's looting by hoodlums and Wednesday's arson and destruction.

Following the massive turnout of youths nationwide and the hullabaloo occasioned by hoodlums disguising as protetsers to cause mayhem, especially around Egbe-Ikotun and the destruction of public facilities at Igando, a former chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA has enjoined the youths to be patient over their agitations.

The Executive Chair of Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Mrs) Morenike Adesina Williams, in the early hours of today sent a congratulatory message to Hon. Kunle Sanyaoolu Olowoopejo, the Council Chair of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Alimosho LGA on his birthday.

Less than 12 hours after organised thugs burgled supermarkets and shops in Ikotun, hoodlums who disguised as protesters are also encroaching various shops at Isheri- Idimu in Alimosho.

Igando Police Station in Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area of Alimosho is currently on fire amidst sporadic shooting from the police station. An alleged crowd of thugs on motorcycles are encroaching on the police station to respond to the shootings with petrol and fire. Police officers are trapped inside and all they keep doing is to shoot to ward off an imminent attack but the situation seems to be helpless right now.

Major roads in Igando and Ikotun have remained persistently blocked with no thoroughfare, hours after the State Government declared an emergency curfew to begin from 4:00pm.

RESIDENTS of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area yesterday took a walk from Cele Bridge in Egbe to Ejigbo LCDA, joined other protesters on Ikotun Road and marched to Isolo Secretariat to lend their voice in demanding an end to police brutality.

THE Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPA) on Wednesday, October 7, launched an enforcement tour of structures in Ikotun-Egbe area of the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho local council.
