Council boss inspects police station, looted shops in Ikotun-Igando LCDA

Monday morning welcomed officials of the Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho Local Government to the scenes of last Thursday's looting by hoodlums and Wednesday's arson and destruction.

Monday morning welcomed officials of the Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Alimosho Local Government to the scenes of last Thursday's looting by hoodlums and Wednesday's arson and destruction.
 
 Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Comrade Eniola Badmos Oseni, confirmed to AlimoshoToday that the team was led by the Council Boss, Hon. Morenike Adeshina Williams.
 
 
According to Oseni, the places inspected for reports and government action were Ikotun Police Station, Twins  Faja Supermarket, LG Electronics, Foodcity, Mr Biggs, SLOT, shops of SME's, Ikotun Primary Health Centre, and Ikotun Fire Service-looted and set ablaze by hoodlums.
 
The Council Chair, during the on-the-spot assessment, expressed her pains with the state of damage that claimed the lives and property of both government officials and private individuals.
 
Adeshina Williams said: ” It is so disheartening that avoidable crisis was allowed to degenerate into the destruction of lives and property which are colossal.
 
“The incident is an ugly one to behold, looking at the lives lost and property damaged due to crisis that could have been well managed for peace to reign."
 
 After going round the buildings of the razed Police Station and the charred vehicles, Hon. Jimoh Ajao, who was part of the team, assured that government would begin nvestigation to unravel the cause of the crisis for justice to be served, as culprits would be brought to book.
 
Ajao sympathized with the families of the bereaved and prayed that God grant them the fortitude to bear their irreparable loss.  He encouraged them to be strong in this trying moment.
 
Residents have been advised to remain calm in the face of the present crisis, as the government is already setting in motion the restoration of peace and normalcy to the communities.
