Major roads in Igando and Ikotun have remained persistently blocked with no thoroughfare, hours after the State Government declared an emergency curfew to begin from 4:00pm. Defying the order,  hoodlums and street urchins have taken to the streets, compelling vehicle owners to pay toll fees. Even women have joined them in the act.

Igando Road inwards Ikotun, along Oba's Palace is blocked and vehicle owners and motorcyclists who tried to manoeuvre through the back streets meet another challenge-toll collectors. They blocked the streets with tyres and planks, clamouring for tolls.

"One would expect that this type of thing would never happen at this time that many are blaming the police for extortion, bribery and brutality cases," Mr. John Onawale, a motorist complained to AlimoshoToday.

"Everywhere is blocked and this is the only possible route to pass. They are not placing a price.  I gave them ₦100, a bike man gave them ₦50. It is well," Onawale sighed.

Meanwhile, at Ikotun, major roads are still blocked as protesters kept on chanting songs, with women and children among them.
