Super Eagles Head coach, Jose Peseiro has provided an update on when both players will link up with the rest of the squad ahead of their opening fixtures against Equatorial Guinea. 

The three-time African champions have already left Lagos, Nigeria, for Abidjan, Ivory Coast, earlier this morning.

NTA confirmed in a tweet on Wednesday morning that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afro Sports for the transmission of the games.

The announcement was made by Senator John Owan-Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, who made it known on Saturday at a thanksgiving service held at Holy Family Catholic Church in the Cross River State village of Ikom LGA.

Alex Iwobi was among the players selected to represent Nigeria at the biennial tournament as the Eagles are hoping to secure what would be their fourth AFCON  title.

24 teams all over Africa have qualified for the tournament but as expected, only one team can be crowned champions of Africa when the curtain closes on February 11 2024.

CAF has also increased the reward for the runners-up, semi-finalists and quarter-finalists.

The 22-year-old signed a contract until June 30, 2026, as explained by the club in a statement on their website on Thursday, January 4, 2024, welcoming the Falcon to the team.

According to media officer, Babafemi Raji, CAF's Player of the Year and striker, Victor Osimhen and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong will join their teammates in camp today.

Meanwhile, Ndidi's clubmate, Kelechi Iheanacho, is also nursing a muscle injury but is expected to be ready to join the Super Eagles camp before the start of the AFCON.
