EDISON Cavani will not be featuring for Manchester United at the start of the season as he has been granted an extended leave.

The striker, who was a late signing last summer and due to coronavirus quarantine rules, hadn’t been back to Uruguay for two years.

So when agreeing to a new contract with the club, he requested an extended leave which the club agreed to.

Edison cavani has reportedly been undergoing  individual training at his hometown to prepare himself for the next season before linking up with the club.

The 34-year-old agreed to a one-year contract extension in May after netting 17 goals in 39 appearances in his first season for the club.

Cavani would miss United opening fixture as the Red Devils face Leeds at Old Trafford on Saturday and could also miss  the trips to Southampton and Wolves due to Coronavirus self-isolation rules before the first international break at the start of September.
