THE Lagos State Police Command, on Monday, October 3, 2022, dragged three persons before an Ejigbo magistrates’ court for attacking a police officer, Inspector Akwa, at the Igando bus stop in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of the Alimosho Local Government Area.

According to media reports, the accused, Favour Liberty (33), Promise Sunday (23) and Adaeze Ndubuisi (20) were said to have descended on the inspector who they claimed they thought was a criminal around 8 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Igando bus stop while he was carrying out his lawful duty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, who said the victim sustained severe injuries as a result of the beating he received, asked the court to give a date for a hearing, since the accused pleaded not guilty, to enable the police to prove that they actually committed the offence.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Dosumu, granted them bail and adjourned the case.
