A 24-year-old man, Fisayo Isaac, has landed in trouble for allegedly releasing his wild dog on his rival, Azeez Ajayi, inflicting serious injury on his body during a public fight in Ikotun.

According to media reports, the incident happened at the Ikotun Market, where the victim, Ajayi, engaged Isaac in a public squabble over an undisclosed matter, which led to a physical fight between them. During the fight, the dog was released and it joined Isaac in inflicting injuries on Ajayi and his phone was equally damaged in the process.

The Police at the Ikotun Division then arrested Isaac and detained him at the station over the incident. After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable for deliberately releasing the dog to attack Ajayi.

He was subsequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace, to which he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.

The prosecutor, SP Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for the hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of #100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of a means of livelihood.

The matter was adjourned till March 16, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
