LASG meets with stakeholders on reconstruction, upgrade of Egan Town, Akesan Road

Akinsanya commended the State Government on the project, saying that once started, construction works on the road should be completed without delay to make life bearable for commuters and road users.

IN furtherance of the State Government’s policy on inclusive governance, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, reiterated his administration’s readiness to extend development to every part of the State.

Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed this at a meeting with stakeholders on the reconstruction and upgrade of Egan Akesan Road in the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area of the State, where he was represented by Arc. Adebayo Ayodeji Odusanya, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Works, and Engr. Rotimi Idowu Thomas, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Infrastructure.5422

During the meeting, the State Government announced that the reconstruction and upgrade of the Egan Akesan Road was ongoing before it was stopped, adding that the Governor had directed the Engineers to go back to the site with the support of the Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, who facilitated it.

On his part, Akinsanya commended the State Government on the project, saying that once started, construction works on the road should be completed without delay to make life bearable for commuters and road users.5421

“All of these will add up to the State infrastructural stock and improve the quality of life of our dear citizens of Igando-Ikotun,” Akinsanya averred.

The Chairman also implored the Governor to remember to give the necessary attention to other vital roads in the axis of the LCDA. 

He applauded the Governor for taking this bold step, which will improve property value, reduce the stress of those commuting in the area, and boost economic activities in Lagos.

Akinsanya assured the Government of the total support of the residents of Igando-Ikotun and urged the contractor to engage the teeming youths of the area in the construction works.
