THE Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA), Igando-Ikotun LCDA chapter has declared that it is throwing its weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) party’s Governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu ahead of the forthcoming elections on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Information reaching Alimoshotoday affirms that the group declared their support at Igando-Ikotun LCDA Secretariat Hall on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
While speaking during the meeting, the Chairperson of LASCOTA, Mrs Dosa, described the performance of Sanwo-Olu in Lagos as sterling, adding that “We are card-carrying members of APC, all our support is behind APC, from the Local government level to the Federal Level.”
“The leadership of the association remains a staunch supporter of the second-term ambition of Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State,” she added.
On his part, the council Mayor of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde said It is important to consider the second term bid of the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat administration because of the administration’s infrastructural development being witnessed across the state and their performance in other key sectors of the economy.
He also stated that no economy or society could do without the services rendered by artisans and tradesmen because of their direct impact on people's day-to-day living comfort.
Recognising the role of artisans and tradesmen in the informal economy, the Chairman noted that his administration will continue to promote their decent means of livelihood and work conditions for all hardworking and resourceful artisans and tradesmen in the community.
It is worth noting that LASCOTA has also declared an ‘Operation Show your Permanent Voter’s Cards’ for its members in the council area.
