LAGOS 2023: Dr Sanwo-Olu mobilises women groups for APC victory

THE wife of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Dr (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, March 3, 2023, tasked women groups in the state to embark on the massive grassroots mobilization of the electorates in order to ensure total victory for APC candidates in the forthcoming Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Information reaching Alimoshotoday states that she gave the charge during a formal reception of all women groups held at Ijegun. Mrs Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Graceful Ladies, particularly urged the groups to shun apathy, any act of vote buying, as well as ensure to vote for all APC candidates on Saturday, March 11, 2023. 

In her words; “As you all know that Lagos State is not in bondage as claimed by agents of destruction and enemies of the state. Lagos is moving to the next level of infrastructural, health, welfare, and economic development as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration has promised an inclusive administration. We shall do it together for the common good.

“I want to thank all the various women groups and coordinators in APC for your continued support. I, hereby, charge you to participate actively in the polls by going out en masse on a door-to-door campaign to mobilise our people to cast their vote for APC by using your PVC power to ensure worthy continuity both at the Federal and State levels in the interest of the masses. God will see us through to maximum victory.”

Meanwhile, the Executive Vice-Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Hon. Mojisola Ayinke Badmus, on her part, educated the gathering that in order to prevent void votes, the index finger should be used for voting in the polls and not the thumb as was the case previously.

She also urged the groups to go to the nook and crannies of their communities to educate the electorates on the voting pattern and also on the need to vote for all APC candidates for continued progress across the country, particularly, in Lagos State.

Mojisola said the gathering was held to galvanize support for the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other candidates of the party in the election.

The gathering had a massive representation of women members, party chieftains, Associations of Market Women from all the six LCDAs in the Alimosho Federal Constituency, and the Chairperson of each LCDA.
