MEMBERS of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA on Monday, August 7, 2023, conducted a branch election at the Council Secretariat Hall, which saw the emergence of the incumbent Chairman, Comrade Adeshina Arowosafe, as the newly elected Chairman.
Information reaching Alimoshotoday affirms that the election, which was coordinated by the President of the NULGE in Lagos State, Comrade Sunday Sewanu Ogunfowora, was considered free, fair, and credible. The teeming staff were eager to exercise their voting rights to select their representative and Union Executives for the next four years.
The Executive Chairman of the council area, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, while addressing the entire staff before the commencement of the electoral exercise, encouraged all staff to be of good conduct during and after the process of voting for the candidate of their choice.
The Council Chair enjoined all candidates to imbibe the spirit of comradeship irrespective of the outcome of the election.
The election ended with Comr. Arowosafe Adesina, the incumbent NULGE Branch Chairman re-elected as the NULGE Chairman, unopposed.
Meanwhile, while addressing the staff, Adesina attributed his victory to God and the entire staff, who have collectively given him and the newly elected team their cherished mandate to lead.
He then assured the staff of an inclusive administration and solicited unalloyed support and contribution from every staff to move the LCDA forward.
The newly elected team include Comr. Arowosafe Adesina, Chairman; Comr. Abiodun Muda, Vice-Chairman; Comr. Teslim Omolara, Women Leader; Comr. Adeniran Segun, Secretary; Comr. Abiodun Keku Abayomi, Treasurer; Comr. Ayuba Ganiu Adewunmi, Asst Secretary; Comr. Akinsanya Ololade, Trustee; Comr. Ajile Oladimeji Aminat, Auditor; and Comr. Alade Folashade Aisat, Young Person.
The representatives include Comr. Ikugbayigbe Femi, Rep. Admin; Comr. Ashafa Falilat, Rep. Works; Comr. Fasanya Oluwabunmi, Rep. Education; Comr. Adeniyi Funmilola, Rep. Environmental Services; Comr. Omirin Abidemi, Rep. Finance; Com. Sowunmi Temitope, Rep. Budget, Planning, and Stat; Comr. Ajanaku Nimotallahi, Rep. Agric/WAPA; and Comr. Olayinka Bola, Rep. Health.
