THE Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has revealed that 250 youths have graduated from the Igando-Ikotun Skills Acquisition Centre for the year 2023. 

The Chairman, who made this announcement during the annual graduation ceremony held at the Igando-Ikotun Secretariat, stated that as part of the poverty alleviation strategies, the council has provided the opportunity for young people to enhance their socio-economic well-being through vocational skills acquisition.6669

He noted that the skills acquisition programme is symbolic as the council is empowering another set of youths to improve the Small and Medium Scale Businesses in society.

On her part, Hon. Mojisola Badmus, the Executive Vice-Chairman, stated that the ceremony marked the beginning of a new phase of life for the graduates who have remained dedicated throughout their training period.

She added that it is remarkable to know that women's empowerment has been at the front burner of this administration.6671

The various vocational training undertaken at the centre include fashion designing, hat making, bead stringing, catering, hairdressing, cosmetology, leather making, computer training,  and shoe making, among others.
