SOME residents of Orenuga Street in the Egan area of Igando-Ikotun LCDA served jungle justice to a motorcycle thief by violently beating him and leaving him to bleed to death, in the middle of the road, in the early hours of today, Thursday, November 10, 2022.

According to information gathered by AlimoshoToday from eyewitnesses, the incident occurred after the early morning Muslim prayer when the owner of the stolen motorcycle was preparing for the business of the day as usual.

Eyewitness accounts state that the deceased and his accomplice, now at large, waylaid the Hausa bike rider, and macheted him on his head and back, before escaping with his bike. The injured rider was able to call for help and the deceased was apprehended when he fell off the bike as they were trying to flee the crime scene.

A rope was then tied to his leg and he was dragged from the scene of the incident to Agric Road, directly opposite Necris Pharmacy, where he was beaten and left for dead.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that the injured rider has died from his injuries while another account said he is in a critical state at the hospital. Alimoshotoday's correspondence also gathered that the deceased was a well-known Yoruba bus conductor in the area.

Meanwhile, an embittered tricycle rider approved the jungle justice saying that he should have been made to suffer a fate worse than death.

In his words; "Two hands and two legs and yet he chose to steal people’s sweat, they should wake him up and kill him again."

As of the time of filing this report, police officers from the Igando Police Station have moved the body and normalcy has since returned to the area.

Similarly, it was also gathered that a blue Toyota Corolla (Big Daddy) belonging to a resident of Oluwaseyi Street in Egan, Igando was also stolen in the early hours of this morning. Although the owner of the vehicle chased the thieves with a bike, he was unable to catch up with them.
