ONE of the Directors of AfroVanguard and a Founding Member of Okun Alimosho, an NGO domiciled in Alimosho, Ms Anuoluwapo Ogunbanjo, is set to launch an autobiography to celebrate her 30th birthday anniversary on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Lagos Theatre, Igando.

While speaking about the book titled ‘Crushed but Crowned’, Ms Ogunbanjo said, “After three years of intense work, I am glad to announce to you that I will be launching my first book (Crushed but Crowned). Over my few years of dedicated service to the people of my community, I have discovered that several individuals have been a victim of messy situations, have had their innocence taken advantage of, and would rather prefer to live from the level at which these situations has placed them calling it fate.

“They have refused to rise beyond the happenings to the fullness of their potentials and have hence, been battered by low self-esteem, lack of courage, and boldness.

“Having gone through several unpleasant situations from rape to stigmatization, rejection, and dejection in life from my childhood through my teenage years, to the end of the first 30 years of my life, I have decided to draw strength from those experiences, find myself, explore my potentials, and choose to be the best; attaining my life's goals regardless.

“Hence, I have decided to use my life experience as a strong encouragement to those who have defined their beautiful lives with these ugly and unfortunate incidents/happenings or situations in this book.”

When asked about the motivation behind the book and the purpose of the book, she said, “This book has the capacity to reinvigorate and sharpen one's focus on one's life's purpose and vision. Impart a sense of responsibility other than wallowing in the blame game, boost faith rather than depression.”

It is worth noting that Ms Anuoluwapo Ogunbanjo has dedicated almost a decade to serving the Alimosho community in various sectors as a community volunteer, an MC, an event coordinator, and other capacities.
