DRAINAGE BLOCKAGE: Igando-Ikotun synergises with Pako CDA on refuse dumping

THE Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has commenced a synergy approach with the Pako Community Development Associations (CDAs) on the need to end the problem of drainage blockage in the community.

Information reaching Alimoshotoday states that this approach was made known on Monday, July 31, 2023, during an inspection tour by the Chairman on blocked drainage lines at Pako Junction along Ijegun Road. 4951

He declared that all the stakeholders present during the inspection and those from the concerned local government area were ready to work hand in hand to put a stop to the problem of blockage of drainages at the Pako Junction axis along Ijegun Road.

Akinsanya, who was accompanied by the CDC Chairman, Elder Oshibeluwo; Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Apena Olatunji; and Council Engineer, elaborated on the need to maintain a healthy environment and keep roads durable.4952

Akinsanya maintained that the blockage of drainage was caused by the dumping of refuse on water outlets, thereby resulting in spillover on the roads and causing problems for motorists and traders, while he advised the people of Igando-Ikotun to keep debris out of the drains to allow free movement of water.

He then promised that the council’s authority would expedite actions on their complaints and request to clear the blocked drainage to bring lasting relief to the residents.
