Broken-down truck delays movement on Igando road, commuters groan

MOTORISTS and commuters were stuck in traffic as a broken-down containerized truck caused a traffic gridlock at Conoil U-turn inward Igando Phase 1 in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA, crossing both sides of the road in the early hours of today Wednesday, February 15, 2023.3103

Information gathered by a correspondent of Alimoshotoday affirmed that the roadblock caused a total standstill, as motorists were forced to manoeuvre the available space to move to the Alimosho General Hospital. From the spot the truck broke down, the gridlock stretched down to Lanre bus stop, as commuters were seen alighting from their buses and boarding commercial motorcycles (okada), while others who could make a turn started diverting to drive against traffic (one-way).

As of the time our correspondent left the area, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers were on the ground, as the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) team were still making efforts to evacuate the truck, to ease human and vehicular movement.
