TWO unidentified men have been burnt to death by an angry mob at the Igando axis of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA in Lagos state for allegedly robbing a POS attendant.
According to media reports, the incident was reported in a tweet posted by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Spokesperson in Lagos, who said the incident happened around 3 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Hotel bus stop along Isheri-Igando road in the state.
Hundeyin reported that the men were burnt beyond recognition, while the mob fled after committing the crime, adding that the police have begun investigations into the matter.
“Yesterday, at Igando, two men allegedly robbed a POS attendant. A mob descended on them and set them ablaze; burnt beyond recognition.
"Police arrived but the mob had fled,” Hundeyin said in a tweet on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
He added that the bodies have been deposited at the mortuary.
