IN a bid to tackle the ever-increasing never-ending crowd of patients seen daily at various wards in the Alimosho General Hospital, the Management has introduced a digital system to address this issue.

Alimosho General Hospital domiciled in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA, has benefitted from various interventions and donations from the Lagos State Government and international organisations.

The various facilities within the hospital have made it a reference point, even for people outside Alimosho.

Also contributing to the crowd at the hospital is the fact that the LGA is Nigeria's most populated. Most patients have also decried the time they spend waiting to be attended to by medical personnel.

In what will be deemed to be an upgrade, the hospital on Friday, March 31, 2023, introduced the Automated Queuing Machine to effectively control overcrowding at service points, enhance transparency, and standardise patients waiting time among others.

The system works with a card, in such a way that a patient can book his slot at any ward and it will be keyed into the system, issuing a number. Then when the patient gets to that ward, he will be attended to based on the number given by the system at the point of entry.

It is hoped that this new innovation will improve health service delivery in Alimosho.
