Akinsanya visits Idowu Ibiyemi Street Egan Town, promises timely intervention

THE Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde on Monday, April 04, 2022, visited Idowun Ibiyemi street in the Egan area of the LCDA to access the level of flood damage in the area and proffer intervention mechanisms to combat issues of flooding in the area.

According to reports, the council boss has told the residents of Idowu Ibiyemi Street and other flooded communities in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA that his administration will tackle all forms of environmental challenges in the community.

The Council Mayor did an on-the-spot inspection of the area, and also charged the relevant departments to scale up intervention mechanisms to ensure that any flood this year was contained.

He said, “This visit is to get first-hand knowledge of the situation, to be able to make an informed decision.

“If the flood happens, the community will be adversely affected, particularly people living in flood-prone areas."

The Council Chairman, who inspected some flooded areas in the company of some community Leaders in Egan, immediately directed the engineering department to take immediate measures to tackle the flooding and also directed the continuous de-silting of all major canals in the town.1055
