Alimosho Festival 2020, which started with Alimosho Got Talents and the Alimosho Business Summit, has been moved to January 2021.

Although Alimosho Got Talents is still in motion, the Mega Fair, Asa Day, Carol, Sport and Children's Funfair have been moved to next year.

In a statement by the Convener, Babatunde Oluwaseyi Just-Joe Adeola, he said the reasons for the suspension include an unmet number of vendors, sponsorship delay and COVID-19 restrictions.

The statement reads: "The entire management of Okun Alimosho uses this medium to thank all the Alimosho Festival 2020 Committee members. Thank you for your immense support and selfless sacrifice from the beginning of the planning stage till this moment.

"We are bold to let you know that we have made a phenomenal statement in Alimosho with the Alimosho Business Summit 2020, and to maintain such an impression, we had to postpone the Mega Fair, Asa Day, Carol, Sport and Children's Funfair to 2021 due to strong advice from the Government and letter from the commissioner of police, to unmet target (47 out of 450 vendors), delayed sponsorship and the new wave of COVID-19 restrictions. After the summit, we got a call from the Area Commander - Area M Idimu Police Command that all major events, carnivals for the year ending are hereby prohibited due to threats of insecurity, as hoodlums have destroyed a couple of police stations thereby reducing their effectiveness.

"For flawless execution, we have moved the events to next year starting from January, except Alimosho Got Talents that is still ongoing."
