A statement issued by the Special Adviser, Media to the Executive Chairman, Ayinde Jamiu Kunle, read: "The legislative arm of Alimosho Local Government at a sitting held on the 3rd of December, 2020, passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon.

"The house, headed by Hon. Ahmed Obadina, said: "We unanimously reject the phantom allegations in the diversionary petition aimed at distracting the good governance of Alimosho Local Government. The sent petition was designed to incite the public and scuttle the progressive focus of the government".

They further said: "We are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the Hon. Sulaimon-led administration has pursued the people's agenda and through many positive initiatives brought to and passed by this house, has successfully implemented a reform agenda designed to bring about unprecedented growth, diversification of the economy, systematic improvement in the public service, greater transparency and accountability, protection of lives and property and relief to millions of ordinary people of Alimosho Local Government".

The house further noted that the current administration has offered hope and succour to the people irrespective of class, tribe and religion, in a way no administration before him has achieved.

However, efforts to reach the Chairman with regards to the accusations levelled against him proved abortive.
