LASUCOM inducts 15th set of medical doctors, 5th of dental surgeons

Mr Ademola Adekoya, Head of the Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, made this known in a statement.
 
According to Adekoya, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Oyedamola Oke, in his goodwill message to the inductees congratulated them for committing to excellence and professionalism as they pledged to the Hippocratic Oath.
 
Prof Fagbohun also charged the inductees to use their acquired competencies to further bring about desirable transformation into healthcare delivery.
 
He admonished the new medical doctors and dental surgeons to be of good character and ambassadors of the University wherever they may find themselves 
 
In his address, the Acting Provost of the College, Prof. Abiodun Adewuya disclosed that the College had been given the nod to carry out Covid-19 test in the State.
 
According to him, the Molecular Laboratory of the College had just been granted licence to operate, hence the College can now conduct Covid-19 tests.
 
He noted that the number two best-ranked University in the country has continued on its mandate as strategy partner with the state government, in strengthening the health sector of the State by producing highly-trained medical personnel. 
 
He stated that LASUCOM has added another 49 medical doctors and 7 dental surgeons to the pool of doctors and dentists in the county, bringing to 858 the number of medical personnel produced till date by the College.
 
He observed that despite the pandemic, the College has continued to attract research grants running into millions of Naira.
 
He thanked the Lagos State Government for the unflinching support given to the University for it to achieve the feat of becoming the best medical college in Africa.
