Following the failed attempt by hoodlums to raze down and vandalise the Council Secretariat of the Mushin Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, has appealed to youths to desist from vandalising and destroying government and private properties.

He expressed appreciation to the team of youths who resisted and prevented hoodlums from gaining access to the council secretariat to perpetrate their evil acts.

The Chairman reiterated that his government has employed over 100 youths to work at the Council as part of measures to reduce youth unemployment in Mushin.

He also confirmed the readiness of the Federal Government for the screening of the 1000 youths for employment in all the 774 local government areas across the country, scheduled to commence in Mushin this week.

"The screening exercise was supposed to commence last week but the crisis of the #EndSARS protest delayed it. The screening of successful youths will begin this week."

In his appeal, the Mayor of Mushin called on youths to remember that government property do not belong to individuals. They were constructed with public funds and would be utilised by everybody including the unborn children who are still coming to serve as either councillors, supervisors, SLG, Vice Chairman and Executive Chairman in future.

He called on the youths to desist from being used for destruction and setback in the society, as every one of them should see himself as an agent of development. He said the council is an edifice that belongs to everybody in Mushin.

The Council Boss advised youths to listen to the government and maintain peace and unity.

Hon. Bamigboye and his team later visited affected areas where hoodlums vandalised, looted and burnt property when the #EndSARS protest was hijacked by hoodlums and miscreants in Mushin.
