LAGOS State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, has restated the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration to achieve a technology-based educational sector in the State, as encapsulated in the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the CBT at the Headquarters of the Board on Old Ipaja Road, Alimosho, Lagos, on Saturday, the Honourable Commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Adelaja, added that the world is evolving, hence there is a need to move towards the full adoption of Computer Based Test (CBT) for entrance examinations into all model colleges and upgraded junior secondary schools in Lagos.

While maintaining that the examination into Lagos State Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools will be done strictly by CBT next year, Adefisayo pointed out that only 47 pupils would be sitting for the flag-off test, while the remaining 163 pupils would sit for theirs between Monday, September 28th to Wednesday, 30th September, 2020 at the Lagos State Examinations Board.

The Commissioner, therefore, implored parents and guardians of the primary school pupils to encourage their wards to improve their knowledge of the computer in order to take advantage of many opportunities that would be available to them in the future.

She said: “I want to implore all parents and guardians to encourage their wards to embrace modern technology because of the incorporation of technology into the school curriculum. The children must acquaint themselves with e-learning and the use of modern gadgets so as to compete favourably with their peers”.
