THE Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, who has her base in Alimosho, in the early hours of today unveiled pioneer Moremi Youth Ambassadors for the Alimosho local government.
The event took place at the close of the Moremi Youth Development Programme tagged "Unleashing Potentials" which was put up to commemorate the International Youth Day.
Akinbile-Yusuf, apparently full of excitement and proud of what has been achieved, said: "It's my pleasure to unveil the emergence of Pioneer Moremi Youth Ambassadors for the Alimosho Federal Constituency."
The youth ambassadors include Titiloye David from Agbado/Oke-Odo, Awotile Akeem, representing Ikotun/Igando; Odusanya Tolulope of Alimosho local government (Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA), Uka Oluwaseun for Mosan-Okunola; Badamassi Pelumi, representing Ayobo-Ipaja, and Anosike Mary-Anjela for Egbe-Idimu LCDA.
Specifying the task to be completed by the young ambassadors, the Commissioner said: "These crop of young individuals successfully emerged after a week of intensive training on self-development and discovery to unleash their potentials at the just concluded Moremi Youth Development Programme."
She further said: "Their primary assignment is to render selfless service to humanity, especially the council areas they represent and also by involving in the following activities.
"The ambassadors are to participate in a charity walk or run, volunteer at a local nonprofit and work with council areas, seek charitable donations for the less privileged in our society, host a fundraising event and donate the money, teach classes in a skill they have, clean up and ensure a healthy environment and many more as events unfold."
Akinbile-Yusuf, who charged the new young leaders on assuming the position of leadership responsibility, said: "A big congratulations to you all as you assume the mantle of leadership in your respective localities."
