THE Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-odo LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa has joined millions of people around the world to celebrate teachers, especially Agbado Oke-Odo teachers, on the occasion of World Teachers Day, 2022.
The Chairman in a release personally signed by him on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, praised the teachers for the role they play in building up society.
He said, “Today, I celebrate our educators who empower our students (across the LCDA, Lagos State and Nigeria at large) with the knowledge and skills they need to reach their potential and achieve their dreams.
“We will never forget our teachers who encourage and instil confidence in our children. With the help of our wonderful teachers, our children can dream boldly with the mindset that they can achieve anything.
"As a government, we appreciate your commitment and dedication to the course of nation building and the development of the educational sector, despite the daunting challenges.”
The council LCDA boss also said his administration has promoted teachers’ welfare in the area.
“As an administration, we place a very high premium on the welfare of teachers. We have also ensured that we improve the teaching and learning environment for our teachers and students through the provision of necessary infrastructure and learning materials.
“On this note, I want to congratulate all our amazing tutors and reiterate my administration's commitment to strengthening pathways in the teaching profession in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA. May God's bountiful blessings and rewards be upon you and yours.”
It should be noted that October 5 is celebrated as World Teachers Day, to express gratitude for the contributions of teachers, who prepare children to face the world.
The purpose of World Teachers Day is also to recognise, evaluate, and enhance the status of teachers around the globe. This day is also viewed as a chance to think about and resolve problems relating to teachers and education.
The theme of this year’s World Teachers Day 2022 is “The Change of Education Begins With Teachers."
