THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, has congratulated the residents of the council area and Nigerians at large as the nation celebrates its 63rd Independence Day anniversary.
His Independence Day message on Sunday, October 1, 2023, read: “On behalf of the government and the good people of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, I heartily salute, congratulate, and celebrate our great country, Nigeria and her citizens, as we celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the nation’s independence this year 2023.
“I join all patriots to once again affirm that ‘though our tribes and tongues may differ, 'in brotherhood we stand', 'in unity we thrive' and that the ‘labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain'. Truthfully, the current global and local challenges facing us as a nation may look daunting, however as a resilient, resourceful, and great country, we will continually prevail and triumph over these challenges.
“I urge us to continue to trust in this present administration, believing that the steps that have been taken thus far will further strengthen our political and economic fabric and also restore Nigeria to her enviable state.
“As we celebrate these historic events, it is important that we deeply reflect on the vision of our founding fathers who laboured to secure our right to self-determination and establish a country based on equity, fairness, and justice. I, therefore, beseech us to continue to unite and ignite our indomitable Nigerian spirit. We shall overcome and emerge as the victorious people that we are.
“My prayer for my beloved country is that the God of creation will continue to direct our noble course, guide our leaders right and help us all to grow in unity, love and honesty as we attain great lofty heights and peace shall continually reign. Amen
