THE Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa has officially presented the Year 2023 proposed budget of #2,657,013,947.01 (Two Billion, Six Hundred and Fifty-Seven Million, Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and forty-seven naira only) to the 5th Legislative arm of the council area for approval.

The Chairman and his cabinet were received at the Council Hall by the Leader of the House, Hon. Olatunji Ogunyemi, on behalf of the other six councillors, on Monday, December 19, 2022.

In his welcome address, the council Chairman reiterated that the making of the year 2023 budget commenced with a budget consultative forum where key stakeholders in the LCDA brainstormed and harmonised ideas to chart the way forward for the LCDA, then subsequent deliberations and debate by the Executive Committee Members and the Heads of the various departments and units to form a comprehensive document for presentation to the legislators.

He, however, expressed optimism that the proposed budget would address some developmental challenges in the area and urged the legislators to expedite action on the draft estimate and ensure its speedy passage.

Famuyiwa then appreciated the Executive Committee Members led by the Secretary to the Local Government, Chief Akinwumi James Odeyemi, and the Legislative Arm led by Hon. Olatunji Ogunyemi, the Management Team led by the Council-Manager, Mr Olugbenga Shogbanmu, Agbado Oke-Odo party Leadership, G-14 members, Community Development Committee (CDC) led by Mr Ernest Kasumu, CAN Chairman, Bishop T. He noted the challenges facing the LCDA and admonished the staff, through the union, to monitor how the opportunities can be maximized by improving other revenue heads. He also called on his distinguished colleagues to employ an oversight mechanism to visit and look into how the council area can be assisted to cushion the effect of revenue generation and to also visit all the project sites in their various wards.

He then assured that the House will swiftly swing into action to do justice to the document without delay and approve it soon after close examination at their Legislative Budget Retreat.

The budget presentation came to a close with the legislators breaking into the first session of their assessment of the proposed budget for approval.
