VIDEO: LASG approves release of 49 inmates to commemorate Sanwo-Olu’s 2nd term in office

TOYIN Peppeyo, aka Sisi Alimosho, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, announced that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy, has approved the release of 49 inmates from the various correctional facilities in Lagos State in recognition of his inauguration for a second term in office as the Governor of Lagos State.

It should be noted that the exercise is conducted following the stipulations outlined in Section 212 (1) (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As amended).

Sisi Alimosho, on her part, said she was excited that the 49 inmates will have a new chance at life while also urging them to be careful so that there won’t be a reason for them to be prosecuted again.

“I’m excited that the 49 inmates will have a new chance at life,” Sisi Alimosho said.
