VIDEO: Lagos Police dismiss Sergeant for extorting N98,000 from man

TOYIN Peppeyo, aka Sisi Alimosho, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, announced that the  Lagos State Police Command, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, dismissed a Police Sergeant identified as Ekpo Shimuyere, attached to the Sogunle Division area of the State, for extorting N98,000 from a young man.

According to media reports, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the victim had complained at the Command that the dismissed Sergeant collected his phone and used a Point of Sale (POS) operator to transfer N98,000 out of the N100,000 in his bank account.

Sisi Alimosho, on her part, condemned the actions of the Sergeant while praising the Police Command for taking appropriate action.

“This is surprising because somebody that is supposed to ensure law and order in the society is also the one distorting it,” Sisi Alimosho fumes.
