MASON Greenwood's future at Manchester United remains unknown despite receiving final clearance from fans and sponsors of the club to resume training with the rest of the squad.

The 21 years old forward has not played for the Red Devils since his arrest in January 2022 on allegations of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. The charges against him were later dismissed as the player awaits more decisions from the club.

Chief Operating Officer, Collette Roche of United, has made it known that the club is working together to come up with a decision on the player's future subject to the club's ongoing investigation.

“We've asked as many people as we can about what happened and try to understand it beyond the original investigation done by the police.

“You'd expect us to engage with people who were relevant in terms of stakeholder groups.

“And now we just need to make the decision. That decision is firmly a decision that's on us,” she said.

The player was not included in the squad that played against Wolverhampton on Monday for the Premier League opener and could also be excluded in the next game against Tottenham on Saturday.
