SUPER Eagles of Nigeria defender, Semi Ajayi knows how important it is for the team to beat Ivory Coast tomorrow to increase their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage at AFCON23.

Nigeria are currently under pressure at the AFCON23 taking place in Ivory Coast after they could only manage a draw against Equatorial Guinea last Sunday as they walked away with just a point.

Semi Ajayi, who currently plays for England club West Bromwich, knows what is at stake as they can't afford to drop points against Ivory Coast.

“We know what’s at stake, is either we win or put ourselves under more pressure,” the West Brom defender told DAILY POST in Abidjan.

“We have put the first game behind us, and the focus now is to beat Cote d’Ivoire.Everyone is looking forward to the game, and our fans can be sure we will do our best out there,” he added.

All Group A nations will have their matches tomorrow; Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau play by 3 pm, while Nigeria vs Ivory Coast is slated for 6 pm. Group B nations, Egypt and Ghana, play each other by 9 pm.
