Ronaldo thanks Anfield for 7th minute tribute

CRITIANO Ronaldo has sent an appreciation post to fans of Liverpool who gave him a tribute despite his absence during the Manchester United vs Liverpool game at Anfield on Tuesday.

Recall that the Portuguese announced the death of his baby boy on Monday which led to several goodwill messages from fans and celebrities with the deepest one coming from the fans of Anfield who stood up in the 7th minutes of the game to pay tribute to the player.

The 5 times Ballon D Or winner took to his official Instagram page to appreciate fans of Anfiled with a post that read "One world,One sport, One global family… Thanks, Anfield. Me and my family will never forget this moment of respect and compassion."

Cristiano has since returned to training with the rest of the squad and reportedly took part in full training with the rest of the squad on Wednesday after he was granted leave. 

He is expected to feature in a top four battle race against Arsenal on Saturday, which edged passed Chelsea at  Stamford bridge yesterday in a 4-2 win.
