REAL Madrid forward Karim Benzema has been found guilty of being complicit in the attempted blackmail of his former France teammate Mathieu Valbuena.
The France international was ordered by the Versailles court to pay a 75,000 euro fine for his involvement in the sex tape scandal.
The incident had already caused the player to be suspended from the French national team before he was recalled back for the UEFA nations league in 2020. France current president of football, Noel Le Graet, has made it clear that the court's decision would not affect Benzema's career with Les Blues and he would participate at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Benzema is currently having a great season with club and country and has been hinted to win the Ballon D Or award this year for his performance.
