NAPOLI'S Sporting Director, Mauro Meluso has dismissed the possibility of star striker, Victor Osimhen leaving the club when the next transfer window opens in January.
The 24-year-old has been a subject to be discussed as regard the possibility of leaving the club as soon as possible after the club posted two TikTok videos mocking him for missing a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Bologna.
The Nigerian international has since then been linked to various clubs, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-German keeping checks on him.
Napoli, on the other hand, despite not agreeing to a new contract with the player, is sure that Osimhen will still remain in the Napoli squad when the transfer window closes in February.
“No, no way. Absolutely not. Our squad is very good, and we feel relaxed. Of course, we can improve it, but we will discuss this topic later,” Meluso said when asked about top players like Osimhen leaving in January.
Osimhen, who is currently out of football action due to injury, has scored six goals for Napoli this season. He is expected to miss the Super Eagles of Nigeria world cup qualifiers game against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
