CURRENT African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen has returned to training with Napoli after picking up an injury that prevented him from playing in an international friendly match.
Osimhen was asked by Napoli to pull out of the Nigerian squad for their March internationals against Ghana last Friday and the other fixture against Mali due to fitness issues.
The striker, who has scored 11 goals this season for Naples would be in a race against time to be fully fit to play against his compatriot Ademola Lookman when Napoli plays Atalanta.
Osimhen is working separately with the fitness staff rather than with the rest of his teammates, but there is already progress in his recovery and according to a report, he could be fully fit before the match.
The Naples, who sit seventh in the Serie A will need the expertise of Osimhen when the clash kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 11.30 GMT and is a head-to-head for European qualification.
