Nigeria drops down 2 positions in recent FIFA ranking

This could be a result of the international friendly, which saw the Nigeria team, under Interim Manager, Finidi George, defeat Ghana before losing 2-0 to the Eagles of Mali a few days later.

THE Super Eagles of Nigeria have seen a drop in position in the current FIFA World Ranking, which was released this morning April 4, 2024.

The Super Eagles, who occupied the position as the 28th-best country in terms of senior men's football are now ranked 30th, dropping two places in the world ranking.

This could be a result of the international friendly, which saw the Nigeria team, under Interim Manager, Finidi George, defeat Ghana before losing 2-0 to the Eagles of Mali a few days later.

Irrespective of that, the Eagles are still the third best in Africa behind Morocco who are ranked 13th in the world and Senegal who are ranked 17th in the world, Egypt are fourth in Africa and 37th in the world while reigning Africa champions, Ivory Coast are fifth in Africa and 38th in the world.

Meanwhile, Argentina remains the number one ranked nation, followed by France, Belgium, England, and Brazil while Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Croatia round up the rest of the global top ten.
