Mohammed Salah is England's European record breaker

Despite the former Chelsea player not starting the game, Salah came from the bench to net a late goal in the third minute of additional time to complete a 5-1 whitewash of the French side at Anfield.

FOLLOWING Liverpool's 5-1 thrashing of Toulouse during yesterday's UEFA Europa League fixture, Egyptian international, Mohammed Salah broke a new European record.

Despite the former Chelsea player not starting the game, Salah came from the bench to net a late goal in the third minute of additional time to complete a 5-1 whitewash of the French side at Anfield.

The goal scored now takes Mohammed Salah's overall count for Liverpool in major European competitions to 43 goals, making him an instant club and league record holder.

This also made him the player with the most goals in European competitions for any English club in history, having found the net 43 times, both in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The 31-year-old Egyptian forward also holds the record of being Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League with 144 goals and has gone from strength to strength after his 2017 move to Merseyside from Roma.
