THE Alimosho Local Government Area is not just one of the 774 local governments in Nigeria; it is one of the most important by virtue of its population, demography, and economic potential.
The local government area is unique in that it is the biggest local government in Lagos State by land mass. Not just that, in terms of population, the area boasts more than 3 million inhabitants, the majority of which are youth.
Ordinarily, one would think that the massive number of youth within the area would make it a hotbed for future stars in all walks of life; unfortunately, most of these youth are not on the path to fulfilling their potential.
A lot of talented youngsters, especially in the area of sports, are not fully utilizing their precocious talents, which could possibly set them up for a great and rewarding life.

The Alimosho FC also got a seal of approval for their effort by getting noticed by the World football governing body, FIFA.
With the strides made by this budding football club, its popularity is spreading within the local government area and more youth are being sold on the idea of taking up football as a career.
With more initiatives, such as these, to get more young Alimosho residents involved in sports, the ills of juvenile delinquency and other vices will be drastically reduced, resulting in a more prosperous society.
However, for the people of Alimosho local government to achieve overwhelming success in this regard, there is still a lot of work to be done in order to fully harness the immense potential that abounds in the Alimosho area.
