BARCELONA football club has asked Ousmane Dembele to leave the club as soon as possible for not being committed to the club's project.

Dembele had been undergoing talks with the club over a new contract, with Barcelona offering him a new contract provided he reduces his wages.

Dembele's contract will expire at the end of the season and has failed to agree terms with the club which has caused the club to be frustrated. They have now asked him to leave the club as soon as possible.

"We understand Dembele's decision is to not continue and we've communicated our decision,' Sporting Director Mateu Alemany said.

'We want players that are committed to the club and we have told him he has to leave the club as soon as possible

"We started talks in July. We have made several offers, which were all rejected. He has been told that he must leave the club, he is not committed to the project."

With things taking a U-turn with the Frenchman, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in bringing the 24-year-old to the premier league.
