The South Africa team have shown what they are capable of in a penalty shootout after South Africa goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams saved four penalties at the shootout against Cape Verde to make it to the semifinals.

Chukwueze is confident that the Eagles can get the job done without the match leading to a penalty.

“I’m not saying he is not a good goalkeeper; he is actually a good goalkeeper, but the most important thing is for us to win in 90 minutes or 120 minutes. We will win without going into penalties.

“It is not about being scared; it is about being on a safer side at the moment. We have been watching their clips; they are good on their own, but we will try our best and win,” he said.

While Nigeria are aiming for their fourth Afcon title, the South Africans are looking to lay hands on it for the second time as they last won it in 1996 when they hosted it.
