Alex Iwobi was on fire against Fleetwood win in the Carabao Cup fixture leading to a 5-2 win in favour of Everton.

Iwobi's contribution was outstanding as it gave a magnificent backheel assist at the 34th minute and found the back of the net in the 49th minute of the game. Iwobi also made two decisive passes which led to two other goals in the game.

Iwobi missed Everton's first two games of the English Premier League due to injury.

Interestingly enough, with the new signing of James Rodriguez, many wouldn't be wrong to believe Iwobi would be out of Carlo Ancelotti plans for Everton.

Despite the situation, the Nigeria International stood tall to prove himself with a goal and an assist for the Carrabao Cup win.

In his post-match interview on Sky Sport, he said: "It was a good experience for me to get 90 minutes under my belt as I'm trying to get fit for all competitions. So it was good for the manager to give me the opportunity today," Iwobi said

"It's always good to score but the main thing is the team goes through to the next round, so I'm glad I was able to help."

Iwobi is part of the 25-man squad to represent the Super Eagles in the October friendlies against Ivory Coast and Tunisia.
