Mosan-Okunola LCDA, LSPHCB sensitizes youths on drugs, cultism under SRHR/Girl-H scheme

THE Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo, in partnership with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), has sensitised and celebrated adolescents and youths in the LCDA through the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) /Girl-H Outreach Agenda.

During the event, held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Youth Center, Abesan Estate, Adebajo interacted with the participants as she sensitised them on the importance of saying no and abstaining from any cultism activities, drug abuse, and early sexual activities. 

While speaking, Adebajo appealed to the students to stand against cultism while stressing the aftermath which accompanies any form of cult activities and drug abuse.

She said: "Today's event objectives are to explore links between early sexual activities, individual roles, and contextual characteristics in Nigerian youth, and whether these differ for girls and boys."

Representatives from the partners of the event, like Mercy Corp, Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Society for Family Health, GOLF, TCI and the Health Department of the Mosan-Okunola, took turns to educate the participants.5936

Highlights of the event include games, free medical tests/screenings, one-on-one counselling, health talk, free consultation, and presentation of gifts to three winners of the game.
