Mosan Okunola LCDA holds public hearing on bye-laws

MOSAN-Okunola Local Council Development Area of Alimosho Local Government has held a Public Hearing on the general review of the Council's Bye-Laws.

The Public Hearing which was held at the Council's Secretariat, according to the councillors, will be of great benefit to residents of the LCDA.


The public hearing had in attendance the  All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, the council's helmsmen, kings and chiefs,  market leaders, community leaders, artisans, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leaders and the Council management staff among others.

In his welcome address, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon Adefioye Olasunkanmi said the Public Hearing was a landmark effort of the present council's administration at ensuring good governance and effective application of the Rule of Law.


He said: " Public Hearing is a major constitutional responsibility bestowed on legislators at every level of governance." 


He also called on the stakeholders and residents of the LCDA to cooperate with the council staff whenever the Bye-Laws will be put to use.


In her keynote address, the Council Chairman, Princess Olabisi Adebajo, said her administration is more concerned with the development of the area, stating that her administration has keyed into the Greater Lagos vision of the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu's T.H.E.M.E agenda.


According to her: "The issue of vast growth and development for the good people of Mosan-Okunola is of top priority to us."


She also appealed to residents to join hands in the development of the council, noting that governance is a collective responsibility.
