Adebajo embarks on drainage desilting campaign in Mosan-Okunola LCDA

THE Executive Chairman of the Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo (Abisco), has embarked on a drainage desilting campaign and operation towards making Mosan-Okunola the cleanest LCDA in the Alimosho LGA and beyond.

During the campaign on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Abisco lamented the fact that some vendors sell on the streets while residents willfully dump their waste in the gutters, thereby clogging the drainages.4968

“We have launched this programme to create a clean and sustainable Mosan-Okunola. The rainy season has arrived, and we are here to help with this recurring issue, particularly in the area where we kicked started.

“The air pollution being emitted is hazardous and can cause illness in the body. A trader who inhales polluted odours for up to eight hours a day stands the risk of being ill,” Adebajo said.

The Council Boss emphasised that everyone has a part to play in making it clean. She called on traders to remove all plywood covering their gutters to enable massive desilting and stated that shops built across gutters must be demolished, adding that anyone who fails to comply with the government’s directive will be fined.
