A part-time finalist of Computer Engineering at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) simply identified as Abraham, on Friday lost his life while celebrating with his coursemates after writing their final exams.
The sad incident occurred when Abraham who was said to have been dancing on a moving vehicle fell off, resulting in his being unconscious. However, Abraham died shortly thereafter when efforts made by his colleagues to revive him proved unsuccessful.
The deceased is also said to be the only child of his parents.

Similar patterns of celebration have been a common feature for most finalists, especially in Nigeria's public Institutions. In August 2021, a similar incident, though not resulting in death occurred at the Abuja campus of the University of Port Harcourt.
This action among others provoked the Management of the institution to put a stop to all forms of extreme celebrations of this kind.
