Driver charged to court for stealing employer's truck

A magistrate court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, today granted bail to a truck driver, Akeem Muraino, who was alleged to have stolen his employer’s truck worth N2 million.

A magistrate court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, today granted bail to a truck driver, Akeem Muraino, who was alleged to have stolen his employer’s truck worth N2 million.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Benson Emuerhi, the 42-year-old defendant committed the offence at Gowon Estate, Alimosho, Lagos State on the 13th of August, 2020.

He said that the defendant, who was an employee of the complainant, Mr Saka Lukmon, absconded with the truck and was apprehended by the Police.

He also added the offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr J A. Adegun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was subsequently adjourned to October 22, 2020 for hearing.
