AS World Food Day 2022 was celebrated across the globe on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, farmers across the Lagos metropolis gathered at Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Alimosho LGA to participate in the annual celebration.
In his welcome address, at the event titled "Safe Food Today for a Healthy Tomorrow”, Akinsanya promised to always support the development of traditional occupation within the council area and state at large.
According to him, "We are blessed with abundant human and material resources to proceed on this noble cause and we won't relent until food safety and security are sustainably accomplished."
He then enjoined Lagosians to replicate the good gestures of the state government by casting their votes for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the state Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Supervisor for Agriculture, Femi Abolarinwa, in his goodwill message appreciated the council helmsman for sponsoring the event while asking Lagosians to cast their votes for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
Guests at this year’s celebration include the representatives of the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya, Mr Adeyemi Omirin; Executive Chairman, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, represented by the Executive Vice-Chairman, Hon. Mojisola Badmus; Leader of the Legislative Arm of the council, Hon. Prince Dauda Gbadamosi; Supervisor for Agriculture and Social Services, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Hon.Olufemi Abolarinwa; and other Supervisors for Agriculture from other LGAs/LCDAs.
Others are the General Manager of Lagos State Agriculture Impute Supply Agency (LASAISA), Mr Bolaji Balogun; Council Manager, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Mr Samsideen Odeleye; other Executive Committee and Legislative Arm of the Council; State Permanent Secretaries; Directors of Departments and Units Heads; among others.
