RESIDENTS of Igando, in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA early this week apprehended two men who attempted to kidnap two school boys of Egan Senior School, Igando.

In a video obtained by our correspondent, the boys were seen with injuries to the knee and head, as the alleged kidnappers were pleading for mercy at the hands of the angry crowd who were interrogating them.

A resident who claims she knew what happened but spoke on the condition of anonymity said the boys boarded a Keke (Marwa) and were to stop at College junction.

Narrating her version of the story, she said, "The boys took Keke to stop at College junction. When they noticed that the Keke was speeding past, out of fear, one of them jumped out of the moving Keke, that is why if you look at the video well, you will see injury on his knee.

"The other one who stayed inside was hit on the head. That is what gave him the injury. So after people saw what happened, they chased after the Keke and blocked it. That is how they caught these two men."

It could not be immediately ascertained if the men were handed over to the Igando Police Station. However, efforts are being made to contact the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lasisi Akinsanya, and the Spokesperson of the Police in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, for official confirmation of this incident.
