THE earlier scheduled opening match of the Hon. Jimoh Alao@65 football competition between Team Deputy and Bucknor FC has been called off.
This, according to information sent to AlimoshoToday.com, was due to the flouting of the competition’s regulations by one of the teams, Team Deputy.
Team Deputy flouted the competition’s rules by presenting three players that were not earlier presented in the group’s player chart during the registration stage of the competition.
The organisers, on their part, maintained that the act is against football rules and the implication is an automatic disqualification.
To this end, Team Deputy has been disqualified from the tournament, while Bucknor FC has automatically qualified for the quarter-final rounds of the competition.
The organisers of the competition have pledged to continue to give equal rights to all participating teams.
Hon. Jimoh Ajao is the Apex Leader and a former executive chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA
